I was assigned a brief in which I had to work with a team of 3 other students to create a playable board game. We were given three weeks and a list of existing video games, one of which we could choose as an IP to base our board game on. We chose The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. We then had to consider the mechanics of the original video game and how we could convert them to work in a tabletop game. The board games were then play tested, peer reviewed and marked on submission day. My team’s board game won the top marks of our year group and tied with the record high score of this brief at 86/100. It is now being used by our lecturers as an “outstanding example” to inspire the younger year groups who are attempting the brief.
